Do I get a copy of the video?

Yes, always, along with written findings. It is your pipe and your property — you should be able to take that footage to another contractor for a second opinion, and we would rather you did that than felt cornered.

Is a camera inspection included with other services?

Camera inspection is included with our sewer line services and with any trenchless repair, both before and after the work. It can also be booked on its own as a standalone inspection.

A camera inspection turns a sewer line from a guess into a known quantity. A self-levelling HD camera head travels the full length of the lateral while a locator marks the position and depth of anything we find on the surface above it. You end up knowing what the problem is, exactly where it is, and how deep — before anyone quotes a repair.

This matters most in two situations. The first is before buying a home. A standard home inspection does not include the sewer lateral, and in this area a failed lateral on a 1950s house is a five-figure surprise that lands on the buyer weeks after closing. A camera inspection during the inspection contingency is one of the highest-value few hundred dollars in the entire transaction.

The second is before authorising any significant repair. If a contractor has quoted you a sewer replacement without showing you footage, you have no way to evaluate the quote. We hand over the video and the written findings either way — including when the honest finding is that your line is fine and does not need the work someone else proposed.
