When a sewer line is collapsed, severely bellied, or too far gone to line, it needs replacing — but replacing it does not have to mean an open trench from the house to the street. Pipe bursting pulls a bursting head through the old pipe, fracturing it outward into the surrounding soil while simultaneously drawing a new seamless HDPE line into the space behind it.

The practical result is a brand-new, full-diameter, fully jointless sewer line installed through two access pits instead of a trench across the entire run. For properties where the lateral crosses a driveway, a finished patio, mature landscaping or a tree you are not willing to lose, the difference in restoration cost alone is substantial.

Pipe bursting also lets us upsize. If your original lateral was undersized for the fixture count the house now carries — a common situation in homes that have been extended or had bathrooms added — we can pull in a larger line on the same path.

Pipe Bursting Replacement — common questions

Lining rebuilds the inside of a pipe that is still structurally present. Bursting destroys the old pipe entirely and replaces it with a new one on the same path. Lining is for damaged pipe; bursting is for pipe beyond saving, or pipe that needs to be larger.
